Good family old fashioned restaurant; memories, my mom and dad loved this place

Good old fashioned cafeteria style restaurant with excellent carved roast beef. The employees are super nice and friendly. Excellent restaurant with great food!!

Best place in town! A little pricey but worth it. You pay for each item or get a combo. Local business and last one in the franchise. Again, worth the trip and price.

If you like food, quality service and understand that you need to pay for it, then this is the place to go. No reservations but definitely worth the wait. Food quality is on point, service is surprisingly quick, and staff is amazing and very helpful.

If you want a fast bite to eat, where they cut the beef right off the roast in front of you for your sandwich, you gotta go here! And they are so friendly and helpful!

I have driven by this place for years and never stopped.My buddy had suggested that I should check this place out. I have been here a total of four times now, and I have enjoyed the food.Today I went in for lunch and got the roast beef with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. It was delicious.The only thing I am confused about is two times I have come here, and someone came and check on you did I need more water or whatnot. The other two times, including today, they sat your food down at the table, and no one ever came back. Is it because they only do it for dinner?Other than that, everything else was great.

Went here as a kid after church all the time. Still visit occasionally as an adult who likes to eat early. The staff is always friendly, love the cafeteria style and the roast beef is what to get.

I have been coming there since I was a little girl. A special after church Sunday meal. Was always such a treat! Still is!!!! Delightful staff; kind & helpful; food is wonderful!!!! Quite the favorite in our family. Delicious!!!!

Great beef, sliced from the round before your eyes. A 'slice' of mud 20th century America wonderfully preserved.

We go here a lot! We really like the food. You can get as much you want to eat, or you can even get half orders, which I do. Plus the servers are very nice and efficient.

One of the few family restaurants left that serve excellent food without the need to have a liquor bar.

This is a great American staple of what restaurants should be. I drive here from Allen Park to enjoy the great food! It is the last one (used to be many). Please go

Good comfort food. Big portions for a reasonable price. Seriously the service is the absolute best here. The staff is kind and makes the meal into an actual experience. So nice to have a place to go where you can expect kindness and to be treated well every single time.

First time being there, I can honestly say this place felt like home. It really brought me back. It was so calm and amazing. I am so glad we went to this place, recommend 10/10

It's been good every time for the past 25 yrs i been coming....

Loved it! My husband used to go, as a kid, with his grandparents and parents on Sundays after church. So when we saw that there was one still open, we had to stop. From the outside of the building I wasn't expecting much. It...well... has what I'll call "old charm", lol. The inside was similar, dated, but clean!The food is great! Tastes like Grandma's home cooking and the portions are a nice big helping. The staff was also wonderful! We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area!

I had the special for 12.95! It was chopped steak w/mashed potatoes and gravy with a roll, salad and dessert. It was DELICIOUS!! Staff was nice and helpful. Will come here again.

We love this place!! Sad that the others closed, but we try to make it over to this Royal Oak location as much as we can. Great food, great prices that you can't beat. Pleasant, terrific service.

We went right after they reopened. They had no roast beef, and the prices have gone up. They had also done away with the pickles and beets, because of covoid. The staff did not seem happy to be there. It is not the restaurant it once was.

Ahh, yes, my favorite restaurant. I--along with my brother and my mom used to go there as a young kid/toddler if I may recall... There used to be one on Eight Mile Rd. near O'Hair Park before it closed down and demolished in the early-90's... My dad also used to take me and my brother at this location on Woodward back around 2000 and maybe 2001. The food I've tasted reminded me of the best quality meal I have been missing for who knows how long... I hope to god that this restaurant will stay open for a very long time...

Great sliced beef that can't be made at home... Huge rounds, slow cooked, and hand-sliced paper thin. I worked here as a kid, and have always loved the food.

Still, one of the most classic "All American" , family style restaurants from bygone times. Prices are extremely reasonable (I can feed my family of 4 everyone getting what they want cheaper than McDonald's), and everything has a homemade look and taste. Staff is exceptional, place is clean, and full of antiques to look at while you dine. The beef is hand cut in front of you, and cooks that serve (Cafeteria style) pull out no stops if heaping generous portions and make attempts at any special requests. This is a place people should patronize, period.

I mean, it's better than fast food. Decor is original. Food is better than the average diner. Staff is really friendly and helpful. They take your tray to the table for you.

It is a very nice and quiet restaurant with great choices of food. It's a little unique that they don't always have the same food for every night and it's kind of like a lunch line where you walk along the counter picking out the food you want and then pay after you get everything the prices are great for the amount of food you get and it is very good food.

Great place and the food is really good! I went there growing up so it's nice to know this last of the chain is still around!...They have one of the arrangements where the Waiter/Watress seats you... cafeteria style. But our Watress never refreshed out drinks after she promuaed to. Only issues here but not enough to lower rating.

The food was AMAZING! I was absolutely STUFFED! the customer service was great and the place was so quiet, cozy and welcoming. It was my first time there, but it definitely won't be my last!

Good basic food. Meat and potatoes. Definitely will not be hungry afterwards. The place is so outdated inside its kind of cool and its pretty well maintained.

It was a comfortable atmosphere and everyone was helpful and friendly but the food was bland. Coffee tasted weird and potatoes were instant potatoes. The chicken was very tender but dressing was like a glob of thick bread with no seasoning. Not sure if it was the time if day that we went that made the difference or not. I might try it one more time just because I've heard good things but if you like very bland food it's probably a good choice for you.

Im so glad there's a location that I can get to. The other location closed and i was really bummed because I've been going to BeefCarver since I was a kid. I always get the roast beef plate special and they offer sides of beets and pickles. Also a variety of desserts and lunch/dinner specials. If you need a quality place to eat to fill up and have a at home feel this this is the place to go

It's like bland cafeteria food. It's cheap but you get what you pay for bland microwave tasting food. The one positive is all the employees were super nice and friendly.

So happy that they are open again. Great job on the precautions! I sure miss them.

Always a fine meal. And you can leave as soon as your done (rather than wait for the bill and arrange payment at the end)
